Land your first cyber security job
For people who want to work in cyber, are sick of generic advice, don’t know what actually matters, and want 1:1 support from someone who actually works in the industry.
Advice that isn't for your situation
Generic roadmaps
“Do CompTIA A+, then Security+, then…” doesn’t account for where you’re starting from, what you’ve already done, or what kind of role you actually want.
Online courses
Good for learning. Not good for figuring out what order to do things, what to skip, or how to present yourself when applying. You can have a stack of certs and still not get a callback.
Figure it out yourself
Months of research, forums, Reddit threads, conflicting opinions. You can spend a year doing this and still not be sure if you’re doing the right things.
Following someone else's career
“Here’s how I got into cyber in 6 months” works great – for that person, with their background, at that point in time. It’s not a template. Copying it without knowing why it worked for them is just hoping your situation is close enough.
Waiting too long to apply
Without someone to tell you honestly where you stand, you either apply too early and get ignored, or you keep studying indefinitely because you’re never sure if you’re ready.

There isn’t one set path into cybersecurity.

EARLY DAYS
Got into cyber with no degree, landed a government role as a cyber officer, and started noticing people around me struggle to break in the same way I did.
JUNIOR -> SENIOR
Worked my way into multiple senior roles across different areas of cyber, then started helping friends land roles in IT and cyber using the same method that worked for me.
GIVING BACK
I got sick of the grifters, and I got sick of watching good people stay stuck. So I built a structured system around what actually works – the same model I used, and that countless others have used, to land their first role. That became GuidingCyber.

Will help me understand where you're at, where you want to go, and map out the best possible path to get you there.
Talk Directly To Me
I spend most of my day checking in on mentees, providing advice, guidance, and support, while I review and assist you along the way to your first role.
Lifetime Access To Everything
Once you're in the mentorship, you never pay for knowledge again. You'll get access to every new course I create for free, for life.
Here's exactly what happens.
Your first role will cover the cost...
$299 is what you’ll spend on one wrong certification that doesn’t get you a single callback. This is the thing that stops you from doing that.

Cyber Mentorship
Best for: anyone who wants to break into cybersecurity.
I don't have a lot of money right now. Is this worth it?
That’s fair. But think about what you’re comparing it to. One cert course you don’t need costs more than this. A few months going in the wrong direction costs you time you can’t get back. $299 to have someone in the industry tell you exactly what to do in your situation — that’s the trade-off. If it’s genuinely not possible right now, start with the free career plan instead.
How long will it take me to land a job?
Honest answer: it depends where you’re starting from. Someone with a year of IT experience is in a different position to someone switching from a completely unrelated field. What I can tell you is that having the right direction and someone to reality-check your progress cuts that timeline down significantly. Anyone who gives you a guaranteed timeframe is guessing.
I don't have a degree or an IT background. Can I still break in?
Yes. Plenty of people have. But the path is different and the way you position yourself matters more. You need to know what to emphasise, what to get first, and how to frame your story. That’s something the onboarding call and your plan address directly.
What if I can just figure this out myself?
Maybe you can. Some people do. The question is whether you want to spend 6 -12 months testing different roadmaps and hoping you picked the right ones, or skip that part. This isn’t a secret formula – it’s just having someone who already knows the industry tell you what to do instead of guessing.
